Privacy Policy

GramFetch is designed to work without accounts, so we collect very little. This page explains what happens to your data when you visit gramfetch.com, paste a link into the downloader, see ads, or contact us.

1. Who we are

GramFetch is an independent website. It is not affiliated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@gramfetch.com or through our contact page.

2. What happens when you paste a link

  • The Instagram link you paste is sent to our server, which requests the public post from Instagram and returns the media links. Those requests to Instagram may pass through third-party network or proxy providers.
  • Photo previews (and video previews, if our server can't stream them) load directly from Instagram's servers, so Instagram/Meta can see your IP address and browser details for those requests, as with any embedded Instagram image.
  • When you click Download, the file is passed through our server to your device. We do not save copies of the media, and we do not build a history of the links you paste.
  • Our server's technical logs can contain the Instagram post URL and media URLs while a request is processed, to help us fix errors. We never ask for, and never receive, your Instagram username or password.

3. Technical data and hosting

Our website is hosted by Vercel and our download server by Railway. Like any web host, they process standard request data such as IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and time, so the site can be delivered and protected from abuse. These providers keep their logs for a limited period under their own retention settings. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors.

We do not currently use an analytics service such as Google Analytics. If that changes, we will update this page first.

4. Cookies, local storage and Google AdSense

Our own storage: GramFetch saves your light/dark theme choice in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

Advertising: GramFetch shows ads served by Google AdSense, which keeps the tool free.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info.

Where the law requires consent, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you will be asked to choose before personalised ads are shown. You can still use GramFetch if you refuse.

5. When you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to deal with the issue you raised, and we delete correspondence when it is no longer needed.

6. Legal bases (EEA / UK visitors)

We process technical request data based on our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. Personalised advertising relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Replying to your emails relies on our legitimate interest in answering you.

7. Sharing

We share data only with the service providers described above (hosting, network providers and Google for advertising), or when required by law. We do not sell personal information.

8. Children

GramFetch is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict processing, and complain to your local data protection authority. Email contact@gramfetch.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line.

10. Changes

If we change how GramFetch handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our Terms of Service and Disclaimer & Editorial Policy.
